Move-in Day is part of New Student Orientation (NSO). All new students in Fairbanks are required to attend New Student Orientation on campus. Other students are welcome to join the fun and simply need to register to save their spot.
Things to keep in mind
To arrive on campus before the official move-in day, each individual resident will need to submit an Exception to Housing Agreement in the Housing Portal.
Early arrival students may be housed in a temporary room until they're transitioned to their fall or spring room assignment.
Early arrival requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and aren't guaranteed. Communicating any changes as soon as possible to Residence Life ensures you the best possible experience.
Review the items to bring checklist for items you should bring — and things not to forget. Most students bring too much stuff. The best advice we've heard is to set out everything you want to bring, then pack and bring half of that!
